Empowering community leaders with practical skills creates impact that reaches far beyond the individual.
Moulana Mohammad Faduweck of Al-Haqqa Muslim Foundation in Poortjie has been gifted with a sewing machine, enabling him to expand his vocational skills in service of his community. This support strengthens his ability to produce essential items such as school and madressah uniforms, basic garments, and household textiles, while creating opportunities for skills sharing and mentorship within the Poortjie community.
Through initiatives like this, community leaders are better equipped to support self-reliance, dignity, and economic resilience at a grassroots level. When practical sills are placed in the hands of those already serving their communities, the benefits extend to families, learners, and local institutions.
This initiative forms part of Salaam Foundation’s broader commitment to education-led empowerment, where skills development and sustainable livelihoods work together to create lasting community upliftment.
