Salaam Foundation recently hosted kids’ friendly soccer tournament in Protea South, Soweto. The initiative brought together underprivileged children from the communities of Poortjie (Al-Haqqa Muslim Foundation) and Soweto (Protea South Madressah) as part of a youth development initiative aimed at uplifting and empowering disadvantaged communities.

Objectives:

● Provide a constructive platform for youth engagement.

● Foster social cohesion between communities.

● Encourage discipline, teamwork, and leadership through sport.

● Strengthen confidence and resilience in underprivileged children.

 

Key Highlights:

● Participation: Children from Poortjie and Protea South showcased their soccer talents.

The tournament formed part of an ongoing youth development programme, which recognises sport as a powerful tool for empowerment.
