After about eight days of searching by the South African Police Service, the City of Johannesburg, the Salaam Foundation Search & Rescue and other organisation, the body of missing Lenasia resident, Zaheer Seedat was found. 

On February 15 2025, the body of missing Lenasia resident, Zaheer Seedat, was found on the western end of the Oupa Fats Wetland, close to an area called Water Works.

Zaheer Seedat, a resident of Lenasia was seen entering the wetlands on February 6 2025 at 06:30 am. His car was found parked at the entrance to the Oupa Fats Wetland. Search and rescue efforts began on the 6th. The 47-year-old Zaheer was last seen on CCTV footage walking into the long grass near the Oupa Fats Dam. A missing people’s case was opened up by the family. 

The Salaam Foundation Search & Rescue have been assisting with the search efforts being carried out by the officials.
