Yemen Relief

There’s a real reason why Yemen is known as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. The statistics are simply shocking and despite them being so overwhelming the numbers play the hideous role of undermining the level of suffering people are enduring in this forgotten part of the world.

23.7 million people in need of assistance including almost 13 million children.

10,200 children have been killed or maimed since the beginning of the conflict.

17.4 million need food assistance.

4 million uprooted from their homes.

Salaam Foundation has been working on the ground providing assistance to internally displaced and poverty stricken Yemenis for several years. Salaam Foundation has intervened at various levels to cover both immediate and long term needs.

From a sustainable and economic development perspective, we empowered 6 families living in the Dulaiah area with a a small goat breeding flock. In 2023 a similar trial project was run and Alhamdulillah families have already started seeing the flock increase. We also successfully secured land rights on over 4 hectares to the north east of Tarim where we intend to establish a farming enterprise of our own. This will be a showcase of what is possible through long term sustainable development.
