Supporting the Class of 2026 at Leneha Tumisi Secondary School
In the heart of rural Nquthu, KwaZulu-Natal, learners at Leneha Tumisi Secondary School – known locally as the Chief’s School – are putting in the final, focused hours of preparation for their matric examinations.
For one full month, the school’s Grade 12 learners are living together on campus in a dedicated Matric Boot Camp, a proven intervention designed to minimise distractions, maximise study time, and create an environment entirely conducive to learning.
This year, Salaam Foundation stepped in to support their journey.
In response to a request from the school for assistance with their Grade 12 Camp, Salaam Foundation provided food items to support the learners throughout their one-month stay. The intervention ensures that learners can remain on site, well-nourished and focused on what matters most: their final exams.
This initiative forms part of Salaam Foundation’s ongoing South African projects under our Education, Empowerment and Development pillar.
On behalf of the school, Principal M.A. Cebekhulu expressed sincere gratitude for the support:
“Our support will not only ensure the smooth running of the camp but will boost learner morale and create an environment conducive to learning.”
In rural schools like Leneha Tumisi, resources are limited but ambition is limitless. A simple meal becomes more than sustenance – it is stability, dignity, and the energy to keep going late into the night.
Thank you to our donors who made this possible. You are feeding more than bodies – you are fuelling futures.
We ask Allah (SWT) to grant every learner in Nquthu and across South Africa success in their examinations and in all their future endeavours.
