The Quran teaches us: You will not attain piety until you expend of what you love (Verse 3-92).

During this month, we all love to receive those little gifts and money contributions from family and friends. Over the span of time, these have become known as Eidi, or gifts received on the day of Eid after a month of fasting.

But all gifts are temporary. They last for a little while and then break, get lost or are used up. And what happens when we eventually die. Whatever of our possessions that remain on earth will be given to others.

But there is a way to make your Eid gift to go on forever, even beyond death.

Donate it or a part of it towards charity with Salaam Foundation’s #EternalEidi campaign. We have projects in South Africa, Yemen and Syria this year that we are focusing on that could really use your support.

Collect your #EternalEidi gift card from one of the locations or stores listed below. Fill in your name and the name of the person you are donating on behalf of and you can hand it over them to acknowledge your donation. The best thing is, you both get the reward, eternally.

You could even contact us directly on zeenat@salaamfoundation.com to receive a digital gift card.

In South Africa over 40% of the population experiences hunger and we have set up sustainable farming projects to help alleviate hunger and empower communities to produce their own food.

In Syria we are working with children and orphan families to ensure they receive education and character building as well as extending our #FarmingHope campaign to them.

Yemen is the world’s worst humanitarian crisis and 20 million people need humanitarian assistance. Millions of children are facing starvation conditions. We are working on the ground to provide assistance for them through our #YemenRelief programme.
